Accessibility

The eye test belongs in the exam room.
Not on our website.

If you have low vision, live with glaucoma or diabetic retinopathy, are blind, or use a screen reader, getting information about your eye care should not be another obstacle.

Our commitment includes people with other disabilities, too. However you read, navigate or communicate, you deserve a clear path to care.

What we’re working toward

Our target is the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines, version 2.2, Level AA — a shared standard for making websites more accessible.

We’ve built accessibility into the experience, but some limitations remain.

What’s here to help

  • Use your keyboard. Navigate the appointment request without a mouse, skip straight to the main content, and see which link or control has focus.
  • Keep your place. As you move through the appointment request, keyboard and screen-reader focus move to the next step with you.
  • Understand what needs attention. Form errors identify the field and explain the problem, including for screen-reader users.
  • Find your way around. Headings, page sections and grouped questions help assistive technology navigate the content.
  • Get insurance updates in words. Screen readers can announce search results, and labels spell out “in-network,” “needs verification” and “self-pay.” Color isn’t the only clue.
  • Keep things still. When your device requests reduced motion, the animated numbers and logo stay still.

Where the site still falls short

Some secondary text (including captions, dates and muted labels) does not have enough contrast against its background. That can make it harder to read, particularly with low vision.

We help people see for a living, so if a label is difficult to read or anything else gets in your way, please tell us. That’s our job to fix.

Tell us what isn’t working

Email ops@advancedvisioncarecenter.com, or contact an office. Tell us which page you were using, what you were trying to do, and how you would prefer us to respond. If you know your browser or assistive technology, that can help but it isn’t required. You do not need to book an appointment to report an accessibility problem.

And as always, please leave medical details out of website feedback.
